We are committed to maintaining a safe, diverse, and welcoming workplace for all.----Job Title: Logistics CoordinatorFLSA Status: Non -ExemptDepartment: Shipping & ReceivingJob: Full-Time--Summary--The successful candidate will be the point of contact for night shift dispatching and responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, specifically with regards to customer satisfaction. We like to encourage repeat business among our customers, so we take customer service seriously. Logistics Coordinator is responsible for responding immediately to customer questions and complaints and for notifying customers about any delays in the delivery schedule. Staying on top of all accounts and coordinating with other departments are essential qualities to possess in this position. This position will report to the Logistics Manager.--Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities--Assisting on tendering loads by providing information to the carrier(s) so they can quote the load and scheduleFollowing up on outbound appointments with the carriers and cold storagesReach out to carriers for POD s (proof of delivery)Maintain Excel spreadsheet with freight ratesAssist in building the Armada shipping scheduleCommunicate freight rates with cost accounting to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipmentsAssist with inbound appointmentsMust use the checks and balances in place for staged trucksTrack and analyze mis-shipments to ensure they don t occur againManage the maintenance, preparation and routing of purchase ordersReview purchase orders and shipment contents prior to releasing them from our facilityMust ensure ship dates and sales orders are changed and edited to purchase orders due to real time routing in CanopyCreate in transit batches that transfer from plant to plant, or plant to cold storageCheck inventory levels at cold storage and replenish as neededPrepare accurate bills of ladingSatisfy bills in a timely mannerArrange same-day deliveries whenever possibleRespond to customer inquiries and refer clients to the appropriate channelsEnsure quality of all services and processes within the facilityMust be able to work overtime and weekendsOther duties as assigned--Education and/or Experience--High school diploma/GED required (Bachelor s degree preferred)2 years experience in customer service or logistics management preferredExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsInventory maintenance experience a plusAbility to work well in a fast-paced environmentMust possess excellent PC skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Excel)Attention to detailAbility to work effectively with team members at all levels across functional areas, including third parties--Requirements--Supply Chain, Information Systems, or other quantitative field of study a plusKnowledge of transportation operationsExperience with routing and transportation optimization softwareExperience in Canopy or similar softwareStrong computer proficiency in MS Office applicationsDemonstrated data manipulation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.Experience with supply chain technology--PHYSICAL DEMANDS--The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job--Function/ Amount of TimeStand: Under 1/3Walk: Under 1/3Sit: 1/3- 2/3Use hands to finger, handle or feel: Over 2/3Reach with hands and arms: Under 1/3Climb or balance: NoneStoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: None--Function/ Amount of TimeUp to 10 pounds: Under 1/3Up to 25 pounds: NoneUp to 50 pounds: NoneUp to 100 pounds: None--WORK ENVIRONMENT:--Cold Temperature:
