It is a medium dark wood with two drawers below a pull-down writing surface. It also has 6 small cubbies and two small drawers inside. It was my parents, and they took very good care of it. I trailered it down from Oregon and the tiny fencing that surrounds the top edge needs to be reglued or rescrewed in. My fault. I have the pieces. Dimensions: 27" wide 41.5" open front to back
