Responsibilities include: Leading and developing the Inverness ecology team. Planning and assigning team tasks, overseeing quality, managing performance, and providing support. Collaborating with our Ecology Manager and Principal consultant in the north of England for seamless team integration and technical excellence. What our client is seeking: A BSc and/or MSc in Ecology or a related discipline. Membership in a relevant professional body like CIEEM. Your qualifications: Habitat surveys (Phase 1, UKHab, NVC). European Protected Species survey and licensing. Ornithology. Leading and managing project teams. EIA and HRA report production. GIS proficiency. Ecological Clerk of Works (ECo W). Ecological project management. Effective communication. Your previous experience: A strong grasp of Scottish wildlife legislation, ecological surveys, and the planning process. Expertise in ecological survey and backssment (plants/habitats, birds, protected species). Robust project management across diverse types. Experience as an ECo W or Environment Manager. The leadership of ecology project teams. Proficient report writing and client communication. EIA chapter and HRA report writing. Budget management and financial reporting. Line management/supervision of junior staff.
