Excelsior Defense is now accepting applications for professional Unarmed Security Guards to protect our client's premises, assets and personnel located on beautiful St. Pete Beach! You will maintain a high visibility presence at the Guard House located at the main entrance and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions and maintain access control into the property. The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report. Follow all Access Control procedures for residents and vendors as prescribed in the Post Orders.Must have a valid Class D Security License POST HOURS: FRIDAY - SUNDAY 0800-1800 for a total of 30 HRS per week. Responsibilities Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property Apprehend criminals and evict violators Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences Report in detail any suspicious incidents Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment Perform first aid or CPR Skills Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position Valid Class D Security License active with the State of Florida Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols Surveillance skills and detail orientation Integrity and professionalism High school degree Job Type: Full-timeSalary: From $16.00 per hour, this post will have a contractual increase in June 2023 to $17.12 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 10 hour shift Experience: Security: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: Class D Security (Required) Work Location: In person
