DiStefano Brothers Construction, Inc. (DBC) is seeking a Commercial Project Superintendent (CPS) to supervise commercial projects. The Commercial Project Superintendent must be a self-assured, dependable individual that will direct and coordinate all facets of a project once it commences in the field. This position will have cross-over responsibilities with pre-construction Project Management tasks such as subcontractor scope development and reviews, buyout, and schedule development. The CPS will be responsible for the performance of the construction team on site, and all subcontractor staff as well as ensuring all proper tools, equipment, and materials are available as the project schedule dictates. The CPS will analyze and develop plans to mitigate risk to the company in all facets of the work. The Commercial Construction Superintendent must have in-depth knowledge of construction management, possess an analytical mind with superb organizational skills, must have experience using keen negotiation strategies, and come to DBC with a book of business connections and dependable subcontractors. Responsibilities: Pre-Construction Have or quickly achieve proficiency with PM software CoConstruct or BuilderTrend Project review and evaluation of incoming projects Scope development, scope reviews Assist in negotiating the best contracts to ensure maximum profitability and efficiency. Obtain relevant permits, approvals, licenses. Determine the necessary resources (time, cost, labor, materials) for each project. Assist with hiring field staff and subcontractors. Construction Implement schedules as directed or provided by Project Management. Manage using PM software CoConstruct or BuilderTrend Be independently motivated and able to achieve goals and timelines under minimal supervision. Perform detailed analyses and drawing up reports and recommendations for senior management. Provide guidance and supervision to all players. Assess the progress and performance of all workers involved. Ensure compliance with all building, safety, and governmental regulations. Responsible for site-based Quality Control. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering – or - relevant experience of equal value. Relevant certification may be required. Five plus years of supervisory and team leadership experience with proven success, preferably in construction or related trade. Minimum of 10 years hands on carpentry experience required. Software experience preferred CoConstruct, Google Workspace, MS Office, Smartsheet, and related scheduling software programs. Familiar with the language of the commercial construction business; knowledge of all construction divisions. Advanced understanding of construction processes, principles, materials, and tools. Excellent leadership abilities. Strong client relations skills. Time management and organizational skills. The ability to communicate clearly. Solid critical thinking skills. OSHA 30 certified, State Builders' licenses are preferred. Experience with fast-track fit-ups that may require nights or weekend work. Ability to perform indoors and outdoors during all seasons of the year. Able to work with tools if and when needed; ability and willingness to jump in and help the crews on your projects as needed. Lift and carry 80+ lbs. Ability to climb ladders. Kneel and bend repeatedly. Operate tools, machines & equipment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
