We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Librarian , on a 5-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay: £21 per Hour Responsibilities: To plan, develop and deliver a quality, innovative and flexible local history service To manage, promote and develop Local History and Archives collections working closely with the Archivist To promote and market the services of the Local History Centre To work with colleagues to deliver and promote the use of the local history collections. To engage with a range of customers and involve them in the development of local history services To contribute to continuous service improvement through challenge and innovative thinking. To initiate and undertake project work with a range of partners as necessary. Requirements: Knowledge of the priorities for managing a local history and archives service Knowledge of sources of information for local history Knowledge of current developments within the libraries, museums and archives sector Working knowledge of partners and potential partners in the heritage world Excellent knowledge of managing projects with a range of partners Good knowledge of delivering services to a wide range of customers and community groups Good knowledge of the latest developments in heritage service delivery Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
