Job Description Duration: 8 Months (4 weeks on, 2 weeks off, fly-in fly-out rotation) Positions Available: 1 Intake Date: Monday, May 6, 2024. Teck will provide support in obtaining of a work Visa to perform work in the United States. Offer will be subject to obtaining legal capacity to work in the United States. Application Deadline: We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Desired Background: For this position, we are looking for a student who is pursuing their post-secondary degree in Metallurgical, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering. Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations is recruiting for a Metallurgical Engineering Co-op student. This student will be reporting to a Metallurgical Engineer. About Red Dog Operations Red Dog Operations is one of the world's largest zinc mines, located about 170 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in northwest Alaska, near Kotzebue. Red Dog is an open-pit truck-and-loader operation, using conventional drill and blast mining methods. Concentrates produced at Red Dog are shipped to our metallurgical facilities in Trail, British Columbia, and to customers in Asia and Europe. The current mine life, based on existing developed deposits, is expected to extend through to 2031. For this position, it will be on a 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off, fly-in fly-out rotation. All transportation (including charter flight from Anchorage, Alaska to the mine site), accommodation, and food will be covered during the work term.
