Reports to: Senior Manager, Clinical Genetic Services Purpose of the Role The Genetic Counsellor will be an integral part of the clinical team at Life Labs Genetics and be significantly involved in service development and delivery, as well as counselling, education and training. The Genetic Counsellor works cross-functionally with members of the Genetic Lab Operations, Medical Science, and Business Development teams. This is a Regular Part Time remote role based in either Ontario or Bristish Columbia. Core Accountabilities Works closely with the Genetics team, including laboratory operations, to ensure efficient delivery and communication of non-invasive prenatal tests (NIPT) and other genetic testing results. Provides clinical counselling to patients to help them make informed medical and personal decisions, relating to certain tests in the Life Labs Genetics portfolio Reviews laboratory results and acts as information source for ordering clinicians Assists clinicians in interpreting results in the context of clinical patient.
