About the role Contributes to continual improvement, reduction of variation, and conformance to requirements throughout the Network Solutions business unit. Directly supports supply chain, product development, production, and customer support activities. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Leads other engineers and departments to evaluate problems, identify root causes, and implement process improvements. Coordinates with other engineers and departments to establish process controls, reduce variation, and improve yield. Monitors supplier performance and evaluates quality of incoming materials. Coordinates with Leviton supply chain and external suppliers to improve supplier performance. Manages the evaluation and response to customer quality concerns. Coordinates quality inputs to new product design activities, focusing primarily on design verification, product validation, and incorporating lessons learned from other business processes (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, customer quality concerns). Manages programs for controlling nonconforming material, including identification, containment, evaluation, and disposition. Supports programs related to continual improvement, including corrective actions and internal audits. Defines and oversees inspection and measurement activities, including new product inspection, receiving inspection, and calibration. Coordinates activities required to maintain third party quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001). Qualifications Proficient with statistical tools commonly used in manufacturing environments, including process capability, measurement system analysis. Can conduct root cause analysis and solve problems using standard methodologies, including 5-whys, Pareto analysis, fishbone diagrams, 8D, or DMAIC. Skilled at data analysis and visualization, such as pivot charts, histograms, scatter charts, bar charts, box plots, etc. Familiar with requirements of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality standards. Able to audit both technical and non-technical processes to internal or external requirements and effectively communicate findings. Able to apply scientific and engineering principles to problem solving in a manufacturing environment. Proficiently interprets technical drawings. Able to develop written documentation and presentations that are clear, concise, precise, and appropriate for their intended audience. Demonstrates effective verbal communication across all levels of the organization. Able to effectively influence groups via analysis and presentations. Able to take a leadership role within cross functional groups. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or technical field from an accredited college or university required. Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Six-Sigma Green Belt (SSBB) preferred Minimum three (3) years' experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment required.
