Closing Date: March 11, 2024 Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Water Modelling, the Engineer or Scientist, Water Modelling is responsible for supporting the application of the Regional Water Quality Model and water quality data analyses to support mine planning and water management decisions at our steel-making coal operations. To be successful, we are looking for a highly motivated, attentive, and organized person, who can drive and keep pace with change and innovation. This person has strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and can effectively engage with professionals across departments and at varying levels of the organization. The ability to find solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is vital. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a substantial contribution to the sustainability of mining and improving water quality. Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Carrying out in-house modelling activities and required data backssments to support the planning, design, and operation of water quality mitigation projects, regulatory applications, and mine plan evaluations Review water balance and water quality modelling work completed in-house and by our consultants Support in the preparation and review of water modelling reports to meet permitting requirements and regulatory submissions Implement, update and support development of water management plans and tools, in alignment with.
