Contract Type: Part Time (0.6 - 22.5hrs P/W) - Fixed Term (till 30/08/2024) Location: Kingston upon Thames, Kingston International Study Centre Salary: Up to £ 22849.38 per annum The purpose of the role is to deliver highly quality chemistry classes (theory and laboratory practicals) at Foundation (FHEQ Level 3) at Kingston International Study Centre (ISC). The postholder will be a competent subject practitioner in Chemistry, with experience of teaching students to A-level chemistry standard. The postholder will play a key role in contributing to the development of teaching materials and formative backssment and will be expected to empower students to reach the level they need to progress into university by providing student-centred, engaging, and innovative learning, as well as undertaking marking and providing feedback to students on formative and summative backssments. ABOUT THE ROLE Lead on the design, development and delivery of Kingston University ISC chemistry module. Prepare and deliver teaching, seminar and support sessions, with a normal teaching load of up to 25 hours per week. Write and prepare chemistry examinations and other forms of formative and summative backssment. Mark students’ formative and summative backssment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including writing termly student reports and tutorials. Develop and update course material for units and teaching sessions, including unit material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Work with the Centre’s administration team in the delivery of induction, orientation and registration programmes. Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance.
