The ideal candidate will work closely with inventors, assisting in the identification of patentable inventions, drafting patent applications, and tracking the patent application process. The Patent Agent will collaborate with inventors to identify patentable inventions, draft patent applications, and navigate the patent application process. The role requires a background in electrical engineering or biotechnology, along with prior experience in patent law. Duties:Work hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created productsAssist in the identification of patentable inventionsResearch current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable workDraft patent applications with the assistance of the patent teamTrack the patent application process from initial application to granted patent to ensure the team remains on trackComplete ability searches regularlySolve client challenges and respond to client needsRespond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeConsistently meet billable hour requirementsAssist patent attorneys with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in science or engineeringMaster’s Degree or PhD desired3+ years of professional experienceUSPTO Registration requiredBackground in electrical engineering or biotechnologyPrior experience working in the area of patent law Skills:Excellent communication skillsStrong research abilitiesAttention to detailAnalytical thinkingAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProficiency in drafting patent applicationsFamiliarity with patent laws and regulations
