Job Summary: An Electrical Controls Designer in a plant is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical control systems that are essential for operating and automating various equipment and machinery within the plant. The role of an Electrical Controls Designer is crucial for optimizing the efficiency, reliability, and safety of plant operations through the effective design and implementation of electrical control systems. Job Responsibilities: Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job's key responsibilities include: Designing Control Systems: create detailed designs for electrical control systems that regulate the operation of machinery, equipment, and processes within the plant. This includes selecting appropriate components such as sensors, actuators, controllers, and communication devices. Developing Schematics and Diagrams : produce schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to illustrate the configuration and connections of electrical components in the control system. These documents serve as guides for installation and troubleshooting. Programming PLCs and HMIs: They write programs for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to control and monitor the plant's machinery and processes.
