This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing assays within the rapidly growing field of synthetic biology. A pioneer of biotechnology products in Cambridge is looking for a senior biochemical assay scientist to complement their research team. This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing assays within the rapidly growing field of synthetic biology. You will be utilising your biochemical assay development experience and will work on the creation of novel biochemical assays, utilising the company’s expertise in microfluidics, to create ground-breaking products. It will be your role to design, develop, and integrate key biological components, across a variety of different applications, whilst working closely with the head of biology and a multidisciplinary team of scientists. To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following; An understanding of developing biochemical assays within a commercial setting Ideally educated to Ph D-level in Biochem or Mol Bio, but this is flexible. Knowledge of hybridisation, amplification, detection, purification, and quantification biophysical methods. The company are open-minded on this hire and place a lot of emphasis on the personality of the scientist and so will provide training if you are perhaps missing some of the experience needed for this role.
