Responsibilities The orthoptist is responsible for the backssment, evaluation, identification, diagnosis, and nonsurgical treatment of disorders of binocular vision, visual development, and ocular motility for the purpose of improving or restoring function. Tests include, but are not limited to: identification and quantification of strabismus, visual acuity testing, stereoacuity testing, colour vision backssment, Hess Screen evaluations, oculomotor motility, and prism adaptation.
