Closing Date: September 13, 2023 Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Approvals, the Senior Specialist, Regulatory Approvals is responsible for leading all aspects of the regulatory approval process for Teck Coal’s water quality management projects, including research and development. To be successful, we are looking for a leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Someone who can effectively engage at all levels of the organization and has experience engaging and collaborating with Indigenous communities. Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Support the Manager in providing leadership to the Regulatory Approvals team, including but not limited to annual and long-term goal setting, project priorities, resource planning and recruitment Lead a team of professionals, including supporting individual and team development objectives, setting expectations, and performance evaluations Strong understanding of Teck Coal’s regulatory commitments, specifically the Elk Valley Water Quality Management Plan, including the Implementation Plan, Calcite Management Plan and Adaptive Management Plan Lead the team on Teck’s Project Delivery and Social, Environmental, and Regulatory Approvals (SERA) frameworks, including participation in risk analyses, guidance on project scopes, development of quality applications and issues resolution to acquire major approvals for Teck’s water quality management.
