Mechanical Engineer V Location: Redmond (onsite) Duration: 8 months Job Description: Duties Design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of Client sensor integrations in wearable electronics Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds Collaborate with engineers and researchers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments. Skills Must Have BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in building hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field Experience with 3D modeling software (Siemens NX or similar) Experience in consumer electronics Nice to Have Custom spring design, small form factor mechanism design Hands on prototyping assembly with small, intricate components Analytical modeling using FEA and hand calculations Experience with FPC/PCB integration Custom sensor instrumentation design, data acquisition, hall effect, custom capacitive sensor Instron force testing Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teams Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience required Top 3 must-have HARD skills: BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in building hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field Experience with 3D modeling software (Siemens NX or similar) Good to have skills: Experience with FPC/PCB integration Experience in consumer electronics Compelling Story & Candidate Value Proposition: Design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices Typical Day in the Role: Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds Collaborate with engineers and researchers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.
