Product DesignerBCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Product Designer for an opportunity in Austin, TX!Position Title: Product DesignerLocation: Austin, TXAnticipated Start Date: 5/20/2024.Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: Contract to hire.Job Type: Contract to hire, Remote.Pay Range: $65/hr - $73/hr.Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Job Description: A global financial services leader is looking for a contract to hire Product Designer. A product designer has strong interests and expert capabilities in the design and creation of thoughtful, memorable, and impactful user experiences. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design exercise. The candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies, and transforming a sketch into a visual and functional design masterpiece is a must.What Else Will You Do? * Working knowledge and experience working in the product design lifecycle definition, empathy, ideation, prototypes and testing * Strong understanding of functional and visual design definition, direction and execution * Interaction design definition, direction and execution * Information architecture and ability to craft an experience based on business goals and objectives * Drive full-cycle product design lifecycle exercises to inspire and create conversation about user experience outcomes * Design effort level scoping (landscape, scope, complexity) * Contributing to internal and external relationships as needed per project need * Strong ability to partner with product and technical stakeholders to understand constraints, limitations, and ability to challenge boundaries * Researching & applying interaction design trends * Researching & applying mobile experience best practices * Perform in an Agile / SCRUM environment, with proven ability to problem solve * Performing other duties as assignedWhat Experience Should You Have? * Candidate must have Design Systems & Governance Experience and STRONG visual design skills. * Candidate must share a portfolio that the manager can access, or the profile will not be viewed - also make sure we have received the password if necessary or the profile will not be viewed. * 7+ of user experience design experience for software, web and mobile applications which leverage emergent technologies * Strong visual experience design portfolio is required along with Design Systems and Governance * Excellent understanding of color, typography, layout and iconography * Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique * Strong ability to give / accept feedback and come up with solutions to solve design and usability issues * Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail * Proficient with Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, and rapid prototyping skills needed for story telling * Ability to create visual design comps as well as wire frames and other user experience artifacts as needed * Willing to take risks and provide innovative / creative solutions * Willing to fail, but ability to learn and move quickly to gain traction towards the ideal product solution(s) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects at the same time * Proficient with Microsoft Office * Understanding of web standards and best practices * Understanding / actively practicing of mobile human interface guidelines for iOS and Android * Understanding of common software project management practices * Understanding of common software development practices * Good professional work habits show's up on time, communicates well, sense of acceptability for your work is a must * Ability to present ideas with passion and confidence is a must * ADDITIONAL * Bachelor's or Master's degree in arts, design, computer science, new media design or related design field.Benefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
