About Baton Rouge Located on the banks of the Mississippi river in southeastern Louisiana, Baton Rouge is the state capital with more than 800,000 residents (the second largest city in the state). Famous for its fusion of cultures, Southern hospitality, diverse cuisine and college football, it is also a significant port and a major industrial and petrochemical center. Our Baton Rouge operations began in 1909 and have grown into an integrated complex that includes the Baton Rouge Refinery, the third largest refinery in the United States, the Baton Rouge Chemical Plant and several other plants and terminals. What role you will play in our team We are seeking Senior Chemical Process Engineers to join us in various roles within our Baton Rouge Oil Refinery Our Senior Chemical Process Engineers (Complex Engineers) play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plants and are responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, production, and reliability in a dynamic team environment. You will think strategically, execute thoughtfully, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. In this role, you will serve as a senior process technical resource, providing technical and operational expertise to address complex processes across business teams. Complex engineers serve primarily to set longer term visons for unit performance and troubleshooting in addition to supporting day:to:day activities. What you will do stylemargin:left:80.0px::Serve as the technical leader on the business team by: stylemargin:left:40.0px::Mentoring less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting:Provide off:hours support of abnormal and non:routine operations, including unit Turnarounds:Aiding in the development of long term vision and strategy for product line improvements:Organizing and designing plant testing and product trials:Serve as a senior resource either serving as or working with supervisors on the team to set clear objectives, and ensure priorities are aligned for the technical team:Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority:Work
