JOB SUMMARY The Network Underground P&C Test Engineer role ensures the safe and efficient installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Network Underground Systems in Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, Augusta, Athens, Savannah, and Valdosta. Responsibilities include working on energized equipment in enclosed spaces that are below grade, writing switching orders and utilizing hot line tools to perform circuit switching on medium voltage equipment (4KV to 25KV), assisting in the development and implementation of new technology for SCADA system monitoring, participating in an on-call rotation and responding to system emergencies and concerns as they arise, handling customer inquiries (voltage complains, claims, etc.), and communicating effectively with high profile customers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Note: Position requires candidate to be available for on-call 24/7 (rotating schedule), paid overtime, and statewide travel. Candidate must be available to travel on short notice for extended periods of time including overnight stays, weekends, and holidays. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) OR- Associate Degree in a Technical Field (Electronics, Electrical, Maintenance Technology, etc) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - Knowledge of electrical system operations, distribution systems, and underground construction practices.- Knowledge of SCADA, RTU, PLC, DCS, HMI is preferred.- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, troubleshoot equipment, and make quick decisions safely.- Ability to work in adverse conditions (heat, cold, wet, bugs, etc.) outdoors and to access below grade, tightly enclosed spaces by means of ladders 25ft or more in length.- Proficiency with MS office products and other related engineering software systems.- Ability to prioritize and organize work to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.- Must be able to build relationships and communicate with customers, engineers, sales, corporate partners, and crew personnel.- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.- Ability to prioritize customer service both internally and externally. Follow through on all aspects of assignments to ensure quality completion.- Must be able to follow safe work practices & policies for a Safety Excellence environment.- Be self-motivated and directed.- Demonstrate "Our Values" behaviors defined as Safety First, Unquestionable Trust, Superior Performance, and Total Commitment.This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:* Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated.
