Job Summary The Executive Pastor has primary responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of the ministries of the church. The Executive Pastor serves as the primary point of contact and accountability for finance, facilities, campus development, risk management, information technology, human resources, worship service operation, events, support teams, and office management issues. The Executive Pastor is a senior supervisory level position. As part of the Directional Team, the Executive Pastor will work energetically to turn our vision into action . Responsibilities Church Leadership Own First Moss Bluffs vision and mission. Work with the lead pastor and directional team to develop and cast vision and strategy to the church as a whole. Oversee the staff to ensure achievement of goals by continuously monitoring performance. Help recruit and train high quality staff members for the churchs ministries Maintain effective relationships with church staff that lead to fully developed staff members who are equipped to execute their assigned roles Monitor quality assurance of all ministries and environments Lead the process of budget setting, budget administration, personnel reviews, and goal setting for fiscal and ministerial goals Ensure a team environment, atmosphere, and experience when it comes to ministry initiatives for all staff members Strategy Leadership Participate in staff meetings and Sunday planning meetings Attend and/or serve First Moss Bluff Functions as needed Participate in the planning of special events with church staff Help the Lead Pastor shape the church culture through healthy presence and effective communication that casts vision, creates unity, and advances the mission Provide leadership to direct reports: Pastoral Care and Missions Pastor Biblical Counseling Pastor Campus Pastor(s) Facilities team Operations Leadership HR: payroll; benefits, hiring and firing, review and eval, policies and procedures Facilities: leases, operations, equipment, maintenance contracts and upkeep, capital improvements Meet with Finance and Personnel committees quarterly to review employee handbook, finances, contracts, leases, insurance, etc. Security Team: training; logistics; compliance Helps to set financial goals in collaboration with the Lead Pastor and Directional Team Create and implement strategy for donor relations Review monthly expenses and meet with staff as needed to evaluate spending Meet with Financial Administrator and Facilities team monthly Provide leadership to special projects such as fundraising, capital campaigns, campus startup, church planting, etc. Responsible for creating the annual budget with input from Directional Team, ministry leads, and finance committee Sign checks with Finance Administrator each week Pastoral Leadership Provide a visible and accessible leadership presence during weekend services Preach four times per year and serve in other roles as needed - i.e. calls to worship, prayer, announcements, etc. Teach classes and seminars as needed Provide specialized pastoral care when needed (weddings, funerals, hospital visits, counseling, etc.) Support, encourage, uplift, visit, and help those in need in our church and the broader community
