Allen and Dona Danforth. An extraordinary man of God who exuded an encouraging and positive outlook regardless of the circumstances he faced, Danforth’s love for children and his unflagging belief that every child had incredible potential to create social impact if nurtured in his or her faith and love for God, deeply marked the work of World Gospel Outreach. In time, the ministry was given the name World Gospel Outreach and many more significant aspects were developed. God continued to work miraculously through the work and personnel of World Gospel Outreach, rescuing lives, transforming communities, saving young people from poverty, disease, and hopelessness and surprising everyday people with the profound call to serve in a tiny Central American nation. Most report the incredible blessing of experiencing the very real presence and guidance of God as they watch Him do incredible things through World Gospel Outreach. About the Chief Executive Officer: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be based in the USA and will have overall management responsibility for an impactful organization with a $2.5 million annual budget, and a team of professionals serving in the USA, Honduras, and Belize. This position collaborates with the Executive Chairman of the Board and the Board to design a future direction and goal strategy and then creates annual business and operational plans to implement them with the support of their management team. This position is a calling more than a job. The CEO will act as a liaison between the Executive Chairman of the Board and the management team, building confidence and growth between both while forming strategic alliances and taking advantage of fundraising opportunities to support the ministry. Cabins on Belize Campus The CEO's Responsibilities Include: Vision — Provide thoughtful and visionary executive leadership that is inclusive, transparent, and empowering in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.Strategy — Collaborate with the Executive Chairman and the Board to design a Strategic Plan and be responsible to execute and implement the strategy. This strategy will include collaboration on overall vision and direction, funding, succession, emergency preparation, staffing, risk assessment, etc. Continue to evaluate and research strategic alliances and ministry opportunities within the countries of Honduras, Belize and beyond.Partner Relations — One of the primary duties of the CEO is in the area of development. This includes ensuring that a strategy is in place that establishes a solid and stable flow of revenue to maintain ministry operations and growth. The CEO has a significant responsibility to leverage the facetime he and his staff have with this partner constituency by managing and executing an overall development strategy. A key responsibility will be to manage the Partner Relations (Development) Director and ensure we grow the funding sources for the ministry, by increasing team numbers, individual partners, grant awards, and church missions funding. The CEO will interface with the most major partners for the ministry and be the public face of the ministry and acquire new major ministry partners such as new churches, foundations, and high-resource individual donors that respond to the vision cast by the CEO. Ministry Operations and Key Functions — The CEO has overall responsibility for all operations in the U.S., Honduras, and Belize working in coordination with the executive staff and Field Directors (FD). The CEO provides overall guidance on the “What to do” as the FD provides the “How to do” for the team. With oversight responsibility of the organization’s operations, there are several key areas that the CEO has direct responsibility for managing. These include financial, legal, risk management and spiritual leadership. Christian Life : World Gospel Outreach is a Christian organization and it is necessary that employees and volunteers possess and maintain a lifestyle that is above reproach. All WGO employees and volunteers must: 1. Be a current and active member and/or regular attendee of a like-minded local church that aligns doctrinally with World Gospel Outreach, Inc.2. Be able to fully support World Gospel Outreach’s mission, vision, core values, statement of faith and ministry philosophy. 3. Be able to follow all policies and procedures set forth in World Gospel Outreach’s Policy & Procedure Manual. Travel Requirements Routine travel within the USA and to Field Offices to maintain organizational oversight and to develop and maintain financial and ministry partners on a regular basis to both Field Offices or more frequently as needed. The travel will likely require 1-2 weeks per month or approximately 35% on an annual basis.
