The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in gene silencing, genetic analysis, recombinant antibodies, proteomics, transfection, and pharmaceuticals. Job Details:Draft patent applications for U.S.-based and some non-U.S.-based companies in the life sciences sector.Meet with inventors to discuss technology and draft patent applications.Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including examiner interviews, filing responses, and appeals.Instruct non-U.S.-based law firms in the prosecution of patent applications outside the U.S.Conduct patentability, infringement/clearance, and validity studies, providing client counseling and opinion rendering.Participate in IPR proceedings at the USPTO.Communicate with outside counsel regarding all patent-related activities. Requirements:Registration as a U.S. patent attorney with knowledge of U.S. patent practice and procedures.J.D. degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice in at least one U.S. state.Excellent academic credentials.Strong writing, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Graduate-level experience in molecular or cell biology, genetics, or organic chemistry.Preference for candidates with several years of practice and/or client management experience. Skills:Substantial experience in patent application drafting, particularly in life science technologies.Proficiency in technology areas such as gene silencing, genetic analysis, recombinant antibodies, proteomics, transfection, and pharmaceuticals. Experience:Minimum of 4-6 years of substantial patent application drafting experience.
