Practice Area: Entertainment and New Media - Transactional, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, Beverly Hills office of our client seeks an associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience in the music business, experience with music contractual matters and copyright/intellectual property registrations, and understand copyright law and the customs and practices of the music business. The candidate will be drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating music industry agreements. Doing document preparation and Legal and Copyright Research (mostly Internet-based). Preparing copyright, trademark, and other registration applications. Communicating with clients and opposing counsel. Assisting with preparation, management, and administration of client and catalogue data. Other duties as assigned. Be a CA licensed attorney.Additional Skills: The candidate must have a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy. Must be an excellent communicator, in both written and oral form. This includes proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This also includes digesting and managing large amounts of information and summarizing it quickly both in writing and orally on a regular basis. Must be able to track communication (and be very responsive) across multiple channels without losing any details. Must have strong organizational and planning skills, be able to work autonomously and efficiently, think strategically, solve problems, and be proactive in order to independently manage own workload and meet deadlines. Must have the ability to take direction, adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment, and anticipate the needs of the firm owner. Must be able to competently format documents, including making sure spacing, font sizes, and other elements are correct. Be incredibly trustworthy, reliable, responsible, and loyal. Have a passion for the work performed and a positive, can-do attitude. Be technologically savvy and will not be intimidated by new technology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and proficiency in the following tech platforms is ideal: Clio Grow, Clio Manage, Asana, Mac computers.
