Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $30.00/HR Permanent Position with Benefits. A busy original equipment manufacturer located in the Salem area is seeking to add a Checker Senior level to their team. Key duties are to review and check heavy machinery and structural drawings used for manufacturing. Verify accuracy of each drawing to include form/fit/function as well as ease of fabrication. Requirements: Associate degree or equivalent experience Several years of experience with mechanical design/drafting using AutoCAD. Must be knowledgeable on all machining and welded fabrication practices and methods. Must have an eye for detail and experience with standard checking techniques. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment. Responsibilities: Review drawings and designs. Review calculations to determine that the calculations match the detailed part. Verify that designed and detailed parts match the fit, finish and dimensions. Verify assembly drawings and bill of materials are complete and accurate. Ensure that the detailed design is functional and can be fabricated without difficulty. Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
