Research Associate (One-year position) Growing and dynamic organization seeks a Research Associate for a research-practice partnership for a project that addresses the out-of-school needs of K-12 school-children. . Housed at Boston College, the Mary E. Walsh Center for Thriving Children (CTC) is a national hub for implementation, research, and policy to promote students’ thriving in school. Its flagship program, City Connects , is an innovative approach to addressing the out-of-school factors that can impact students’ achievement and thriving in schools. Currently implemented in over 170 schools across multiple U.S. states and Dublin, Ireland, City Connects collaborates closely with districts, schools, and partnering community agencies to connect every student to a tailored set of supports and enrichments in the school and community. City Connects invites applications for a one-year position as Research Associate. In addition to managing a variety of administrative and project management work serving the entire organization, the Research Associate will interface with each project team within City Connects and CTC as well as external partners such as school districts, Boston College collaborators, community partners. The position involves several areas of responsibility in supporting the City Connects research-practice partnership. Information support including gathering, synthesizing, drafting, and presenting information related to City Connects and its partnerships; managing electronic files; producing paper reports and communications Operational support including supporting meetings through scheduling, space, materials, and logistical planning; event planning and execution; supporting administrative record-keeping External relations support including serving as a primary contact for City Connects and CTC, and serving as a liaison to external partners including advisors, vendors, BC offices, and others In addition, the Research Associate will contribute to specific projects related to the City Connects research-practice partnership. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human development, education, business administration, or related field Experience working in a research setting, e.g., university lab etc. Experience in project administration and/or project and events management, preferably in a University or research setting Ability to deal with multiple constituencies with tact and diplomacy Ability to take initiative and prioritize work Strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google suite High level of professionalism and discretion The Center for Thriving Children is an equal opportunity employer.
