POSITION TITLE: Inventory Analyst POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for analyzing inventory data, forecasting demand, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory. Collaborates with various departments to maintain accurate inventory records and improve inventory management practices. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Analyze inventory levels and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for optimization. Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models to accurately predict demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Monitor inventory turnover rates and aging inventory to identify slow-moving or obsolete items. Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs. Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical inventory with recorded inventory levels. Generate reports and provide insights on inventory performance, including stock levels, turnover rates, and inventory accuracy. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency and accuracy. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory. Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and operations, to align inventory strategies with business goals. Provide support during inventory planning and budgeting processes. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in inventory management. QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, related field or more than 3 years of experience at the company working directly to the related activities of this position. Proven experience in inventory analysis or supply chain management. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in inventory data management. Knowledge of inventory control principles, including ABC analysis, EOQ, and safety stock. Experience with inventory optimization techniques, such as demand forecasting and inventory replenishment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously. COMPETENCIES: Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and interpret complex information to make data-driven decisions regarding inventory management. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is essential for accurately tracking inventory levels, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity. Inventory Management Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of inventory management principles, including inventory control techniques, inventory valuation methods, and inventory optimization strategies. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using inventory management software, ERP systems, and other relevant tools to monitor inventory levels, track inventory movements, and generate inventory reports. Forecasting and Planning: Ability to forecast demand, anticipate inventory requirements, and develop inventory replenishment strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating inventory-related issues or recommendations, and providing timely updates on inventory status. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of inventory discrepancies, develop corrective actions, and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs, market conditions, and inventory requirements, and quickly adjust inventory management strategies accordingly. Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial concepts related to inventory management, such as inventory turnover, carrying costs, and inventory valuation methods, to optimize inventory investment and minimize costs. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, logistics, sales, and finance departments, to align inventory management strategies with overall business objectives.
