Summary This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Community Living, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.This vacancy is also being announced concurrently with vacancy announcement HHS-ACL-MP-24-12403002 under merit promotion procedures. Duties WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Aging Services Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Improving the delivery and effectiveness of elder rights and adult protective services activities, and/or initiatives under Older Americans Act and the Elder Justice Act which include: developing, implementing, and evaluating new methods and procedures for operational improvements to elder justice, elder rights, elder economic security and adult protective services programs. Planning and assigning work to staff to meet priorities and complete work. Using qualitative and quantitative data and analytical tools in order to provide solutions to improve elder rights, elder justice, elder economic security and adult protective services. Providing guidance on the implications of proposed, new or revised policies, regulations, and legislative proposals. Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND Minimum Qualifications In addition to the above basic qualifications, in order to qualify for this GS-15, Supervisory Aging Services Program Specialist position, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have at least one (1) year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-14 level in the federal service performing ALL of the following: Coaching, mentoring, and/or supporting professional development of subordinates. Overseeing management of grants and contracts, including monitoring of performance and oversight, related to elder justice, including Adult Protective Services programs, and elder rights. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance goals and priorities in elder justice, including Adult Protective Services programs, and elder rights. Conducting analyses of critical program and policy issues that affect elder justice, including Adult Protective Services program and elder rights.
