Circa 1925 Art-i-So Acoustic Parlor Guitar Blues Folk All Original RARE

Location:
Cleveland, SC
Description:

Circa 1925 -1929 Art-i-So Parlor Guitar. A remarkable and rare find. Art-i-So was a short lived maker of stringed instruments in New York City circa mid to late 1920s. They seem to have specialized in making 4 string banjos, but guitars made by them are virtually non-existent. I was able to find only one other Art-i-So guitar anywhere online, a 4 string tenor. This guitar is thin walled with surprising resonance. I am not sure of the wood type used. The wood displays a gorgeous patina. This guitar has new phosphor bronze light strings installed and is ready to play. Other than the strings the guitar is all original. Sounds wonderful, much like "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues", by Chris Thomas King. I would say soft in the spectrum, clear crisp treble with warm semi-delicate bass. Measurements, Total length: 36 1/2"Main body: 18"Guitar neck: 22 1/2"Lower Bout: 13 1/2"Upper Bout: 10"Depth: 3 3/4"Weight: 50 ounces. I will pack this for shipping very well in a padded sturdy box. Free Fed-Ex Ground.
