MARKETING SPECIALIST POSITION POSTED: 4/16/2024 FULL-TIME POSITION HOURS: 40+ DEADLINE TO APPLY One City Schools believes in identifying and hiring the best possible candidates to serve our scholars, families and school community. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled Marketing Specialist to help us in our overall marketing efforts. This person will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to product promotion. Strong candidates for the Marketing Specialist position are competent professionals who are able to grasp consumer behavior trends and generate creative ideas. They are also well-versed in specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics. The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will help our reputation and growth. Additionally this person has the proven ability to write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals, apply their knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach fundraising goals, manage fundraising compliance and reporting, and collaborate with team members to assist with the acquisition of large grants, both public and private, local and national. To ensure success, this person must be committed to the mission and vision of One City Schools. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct market research to find answers about consumer requirements, habits and trends Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning etc.) Work with the Events Manager to liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns Collaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, television, radio etc.) Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned Collaborate with the External Relations team on execution of the entire grant process, including: research and identification of grants, local and national, public and private; ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met; working with the accounting team to obtain funds from reimbursable grants. Maintain and implement a calendar of grant deadlines. Prepare grant applications and proposals. Maintain thorough understanding of One City Schools’ current and planned programs, goals, and financial goals. Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders. Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission. Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs. Assisting with the execution of the External Relations department strategy. Collaborating with the External Relations and OPs teams to compile annual reports. Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases. ROLE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience as marketing specialist or similar role Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM) and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.) Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools (e.g. Dreamweaver) desired Well-organized and detail oriented Exceptional communication and writing skills Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind BS/BA in marketing, communications or equivalent BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Strong commitment to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of One City. Commitment to working with children from diverse racial/cultural populations and their families, experience preferred. Ability to regularly and routinely lift and push at least 50 pounds. Completion of a background check required.
