JOB PURPOSE JVM is seeking a skilled and experienced Scientist II to join our team and perform a full range of scientific services with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 (South Central) serving Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The ideal candidate will have a background in science. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES With minimal supervision, perform a variety of routine tasks related to environmental projects including investigation of air, water, and solid/hazardous waste management issues, health, and safety compliance, and assist in permitting. With minimal supervision, perform routine or non-routine investigations, correlate basic data, analyses, and calculations. May perform routine field work including sample collection and field measurements. Assist in the preparation of project reports, permit applications, remedial action plans, closure plans, health and safety plans, QA/QC documents, and other project-specific reports. Plan and conduct work requiring judgment and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Work on less complicated assignments where little evaluation is required. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a science Three (3) years of experience Must be able to pass a background check.
