Scout is a big, beautiful girl. Once she gets to know you, she is very sweet and affectionate. Being a mix of both a sight-hound breed and a watchdog breed, she loves to be outside and is very aware of her surroundings. She is 10 and a half years old and overall pretty healthy, but she does have arthritis in her hips and a torn canine equivalent of her ACL (from running like the wind in her younger years). Carpeted stairs and floors are okay but she has trouble sometimes on smooth surfaces. She was not raised around younger children so they seem to frighten her.Thankfully, she has never bitten anyone, and even when attacked by another dog, she is so easy-going that she did not defend herself. Her beloved Daddy passed away recently and she truly needs to find another person who she bonds with and who can care for her like he did. Serious inquiries from kind-hearted dog lovers who love big dogs are welcomed. Thank you.
