Maintenance Manager

SUMMARYDirects the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment, utility systems and facility to ensure they meet production needs and SQF Level Compliance.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures that productivity, quality and safety are everyday practice.Ensures that all required equipment is ready prior to production.Trains production employees on proper, safe use of machinery and equipment.Identifies current and future maintenance requirements by establishing lines of communication with management, production personnel, tradesmen, technicians and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements.Achieves financial objectives by preparing annual equipment and maintenance budget, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action.Ensures production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment.Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, equipment needs and modifications with R&D, coordinating activities with technicians, and assembling workers or modifying machines, tools and equipment.Provides heat, electrical power, gas, and air by directing installation, modification and maintenance activities on utility systems.Designs, implements and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, QA and maintenance reports and statistics.-- Inspects operating machines, equipment and systems for conformance with operational standards.Resolves maintenance problems by conferring with management, production and QA personnel.Protects employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean environment.Understands and adheres to the lock out/tag out program.Maintains maintenance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.Maintains maintenance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees: planning, monitoring and appraising job results.QUALIFICATIONSGood communications skills, hard working, dependable, safety conscious and bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.Strong management skills and the ability to develop a successful teamExhibits fiscal prudence and control.EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCEHigh School/equivalent; Five years of mechanical and electrical experience in the food industry and some knowledge of USDA and OSHA regulations.College degree preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTEmployee should be able to:Lift up to 50 lbs.Work standing or walking for long periods of time.Work in wet, cold refrigerated and frozen conditions.----------
