Meet Yuri! He is a 2 yr old Siberian Husky/Greenland Dog mix that weighs 48lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/2 as a stray. He is stunning! He has an independent, a bit aloof personality as he spent most of his time investigating the shelter yard and watching everyone outside of the gate. At times he would come up to us and sniff our hands and nudge a bit for treats. He is exceptional at catching a treat midair too. He walks well on a leash, and can become excited when taking treats, so we are working with him on this. It's possible he hasn't received a lot of socialization as he wasn't interested in being close to his human companions. That can all change as we spend more time with him. He didn't show much interest in the other dogs at the shelter, but if there is another dog in the home please ask for a dog test. He would love to find his own loving family that would have a secured backyard he could spend time in, but then back inside enjoy all the comforts of home. With a family that will continue to help him grow with plenty of love and attention. Come meet this special boy!
