Plant WorkerBCForward is looking for Plant Operations - Plant Worker at Vernon, CA 90058 Job Title: Plant Operations - Plant WorkerLocation: Vernon, CA 90058Duration: 3 MonthsStart Date: May 27, 2024Hours: 40 hours per weekPay Rate: $20/hr on W2.Job Type: Temp-to-HireEducation level: High School diploma or GED required.Job Summary: * The Plant Worker is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of waste handling processes within the plant. This includes unloading waste from vehicles, staging waste for processing, scanning waste into the Biotrack system, loading waste into processing units, and ensuring proper decontamination of reusable containers and vehicles. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Unload waste from incoming vehicles, separating non-autoclavable waste for incineration. * Stage waste on conveyor system or stack waste for scanning in the Biotrack system. * Scan waste into the Biotrack system for recordkeeping purposes. * Load autoclave bins or incinerator hopper with waste for processing. * Place reusable containers on tub wash line for decontamination. * Operate tub wash unit, ensuring proper operation and cleanliness of reusable tubs. * Operate tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs, inspecting and stacking tubs for reuse. * Decontaminate vehicles' cargo-carrying portion and reload assigned reusable tubs. * Address housekeeping issues immediately, ensuring a clean and safe working environment. * Assist in other areas of plant operation as directed.Education and Experience: * Minimum of one year related experience or training, or a combination of experience and training. * Strong communication skills and tact. * Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and push/pull carts weighing up to 500 pounds. * Knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills. * Familiarity with Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.Desired but not required: * Ability to operate a powered industrial truck (e.g., forklift).Additional Specifics: * Shift: 4:00 am - 2:30 pm, 4 weekdays and 1 weekend (usually Tuesday to Saturday). * Safety Requirements: Safety shoes required.Benefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
