Adopt Riley a Tan/Yellow/Fawn Mountain Cur dog in New Albany, OH (41568341)

Location:
New Albany, OH
Description:

Name : Riley Gender : Female Age : 6-7 months Current Weight : 35 lbs Expected Adult Size : Large (50-100 lbs) Breed : Hound mix Energy Level : Medium Dog Friendly : Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Cat Friendly : Unknown Kid Friendly : Yes, any age Apartment Friendly : No Physical Fence Requirement : Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained : Sleeps through the night in a crate, but still only doing shorter periods of time during the day. Potty Trained : Sleeps through the night in a crate, but still only doing shorter periods of time during the day. Ideal Home/Adopter : Riley's ideal home would be a person or family who has plenty of time to spend with her. She would make a great work from home buddy. She would also benefit from a relaxed and/or playful canine sibling to show her the ropes and provide her with companionship when her people are not around. Likes : This girl loves giving hugs and kisses, spending time outside, running around the yard, rolling in the grass, shady napping spots (nothing beats cool grass!), carrying stuffed animals around excitedly, puzzle feeders, chasing birds and butterflies, chest and shoulder rubs, meeting new friends (human and dog), and all of the praise and treats! Dislikes: Riley is not a fan of being left alone for longer periods of time currently, but she is still adjusting to life in a home and this will likely improve as she matures and realizes she is safe (her foster has already seen improvements with her settling down). She just loves attention so much that she can't bear to be without it! What makes this dog special : Are you lacking an adorable and goofy family member that makes your heart want to burst? Have you ever looked out into your yard and thought "how great would it be if there were two floppy ears bouncing around out here"? Are your everyday, boring tasks missing a helper and/or supervisor? Could your face use the moisturized glow that only sloppy dog smooches can deliver? Could your home use the sound of big, clumsy puppy paws to really jazz up the place? What about an adventure buddy? Do you need one of those? Well, have we got the pup for you! Meet Riley! Riley is approximately 6 months old and currently weighs around 35 lbs. She is believed to be a hound mix and based on some impressive "ah-woos" and a nose that works overtime, that seems like a pretty good guess.Riley LOVES people and will happily receive any ounce of affection you give her (she will whine if her attention meter is running low). Petting her soft fur should be prescribed as an anti-stress treatment. Although she might fuss for a bit when she first realizes playtime is over, she willingly goes in her crate for a reward and has been doing really well with sleeping through the night in there. She is working hard at potty training (she will eagerly run to you after each outside potty session to make sure you saw how good she did!) but will benefit from consistency and frequent trips outside as it is still so new to her. Riley is very treat motivated and will thrive in a home that can dedicate the time to working with her on some puppy manners. She walks pretty well on a leash so far, but would love to have a fenced in yard to safely romp around and relax in. Even better if it came with a laid back and/or playful dog friend! She will be an absolutely joyful addition to your life if you give her that chance.Riley's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Riley, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.##2064930##
