Summary We are looking for a Preschool Director to lead our school community at our Alexandria location. The ideal candidate is a proven early childhood education leader with a passion for working with young children and their families and has the vision, high integrity, and strong interpersonal skills that make for a great leader. Our center is Reggio Emilia inspired and we are seeking an educator who possesses an educational philosophy based on the Reggio Emilia values of collaboration, community, and child-directed learning. Duties Oversee day-to-day operations of the Center, including determination of all schedules and assignment of preschool staff responsibilities? Supervise general condition and upkeep of the school and grounds; Ensure that the new health regulations related to COVID-19 are being met by the school community? Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with staff and families? Ensure timely collection of tuition from parents? Communicate with all elements of the school community (parents, teachers and government contacts)? Assist with the development of a curriculum to meet the needs of children? Staff management, including oversight of hiring, training and supervision of preschool staff? Assist the staff in the creation of a Reggio inspired environment? Guide the staff in administering, planning and evaluating lesson plans and long term projects? Train and supervise preschool staff by holding regular meetings, mediating minor disagreements and assisting in the classroom if necessary? Conduct preschool staff evaluations and provide coaching for improvement? Maintain knowledge of first aid, CPR, and health screening. Nice To Haves Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or a related field required.? Masters in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or related field with credits in administration, leadership, and management or equivalent preferred? A minimum of 5 years? experience at director level or equivalent experience? Demonstrated leadership in early childhood education including support and development of early childhood curriculum? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment? Outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization? A strong desire to create a community within the school?s staff and families?
