We produce the Oscar®-qualifying New Orleans Film Festival annually and invest year-round in building a vibrant film culture in the South to share transformative cinematic experiences with audiences, and connect dynamic filmmakers to career-advancing resources. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Office + Customer Service Assistant is a vital role that will efficiently run the NOFS office during Festival season, maintain daily operations and ensure the best possible experience for staff, patrons, members and Festival guests. We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic person for this role, who can ensure a productive office environment for staff and volunteers as it becomes full of energy around NOFF. This also includes managing multiple customer service lines, where this role would be expected to tend to all inquiries with patience and friendliness, achieving ultimate customer satisfaction from all ends. Timeline for the position: Mid August through the end of October. This position’s schedule will require in-office work Tuesday-Thursday and may include remote work on Monday + Friday. We estimate this position will work part time (approximately 20 hours) in pre-event weeks. Part-time work can be flexible as long as within business hours (10am-6pm). Hours increase to full time (approximately 40 hours) during the live event (October 17-22). The Office + Customer Service Assistant reports directly to the Operations Manager. Office Duties: Maintains cleanliness of the office spaces. Proactively keeps office and kitchen supplies stocked. Helps coordinate staff meals and snacks. Coordinates any volunteers working in the office. Handles and troubleshoots office equipment as needed. Assists with post-festival wrap up. Customer Service Duties: Oversees phone and email coverage for multiple NOFS accounts. Learn Eventive software to support ticket, pass & membership sales for festival events, secure donations, and provide customer service. Up-sell and cross-sell tickets, passes and memberships. Maintain knowledge of NOFS membership program and the NOFF program guide so as to adequately answer any questions attendees might have Creates a system for tracking user experience and issues, proposes solutions and ensures fixes are done. Gather customer feedback and report it. Skills, Experience + Qualifications: Alignment to the organization’s stated mission and values. Excellent organization, planning, and productivity skills. An understanding of customer satisfaction, empathetic to all customer needs. Tech savvy, comfortable with computers and familiar with digital tools Understanding of a productive office environment, proactive and able to take initiative. Ability to work weekends before or during NOFF if needed. Experience working with arts, film, or non-profit organizations. Self-starter with strong initiative, drive, sense of urgency & ability to work with a high degree of autonomy. Benefits & Compensation: This position is temporary non-exempt, and the hourly compensation is $18 per hour . Temporary staff members are eligible to receive the following benefits: Paid sick time and holidays; Simple IRA with 3% employer-matched contribution Workers’ compensation insurance; The New Orleans Film Society reserves the right to change the listed benefits at any moment, with advance notification to employees. Location: New Orleans Film Society staff work on a hybrid schedule, with some time in the office and some working remotely. The individual filling this position needs to be New Orleans-based for in-office work and any other pre-festival in-person events or training.
