Position: Montessori Primary Lead Teacher Location: Athens Montessori School, Athens GA Company Overview: Athens Montessori is an established Montessori school dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young minds. Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Montessori Primary Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher will guide and inspire young learners ages 3 to 6 years old through the Montessori curriculum, fostering their natural curiosity, independence, and love for learning. Responsibilities: Classroom Leadership: Lead a mixed-age Montessori classroom, creating a prepared environment that promotes independence, exploration, and joy for learning. Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement Montessori-based curriculum and educational activities tailored to the developmental needs and interests of each child. Individualized Instruction: Provide individualized instruction and guidance to support each child's unique learning journey, fostering their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. Observation and Assessment: Conduct ongoing observation and assessment of students' progress, maintaining detailed records and communicating with parents regarding their child's development. Parent Communication: Foster strong partnerships with parents through regular communication, parent education workshops, and parent-teacher conferences to support children's learning and development at home and school. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of Montessori philosophy, teaching methodologies, and best practices. Qualifications: Montessori certification (AMS, AMI, or other recognized Montessori credential) for the Primary level 3-6 years). Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred). Previous experience as a Lead Teacher in a Montessori primary classroom. (preferred) Strong understanding of child development principles and the Montessori philosophy and methodology. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Passion for working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students to create a supportive learning community. Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience.
