Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Communications & Impact, the Communications & Impact Specialist will support Tangled Bank Studios' outreach and communications efforts. This will include supporting and implementing communications and outreach plans, running and tracking projects, supporting events, and compiling impact reports. They will provide operational and administrative support to the outreach and communications team and will require close collaboration with numerous internal and external partners. To be successful, they will need to be detail-oriented, flexible, hard-working, diplomatic, and pragmatic. They should be a self-starter who can work independently and function effectively as a part of a team. What you'll do: Outreach Research project topics, find opportunities for impact campaigns, research existing experts and organizations working on relevant issues, and suggest outreach opportunities based upon research conducted. Develop toolkits for projects for distribution to partners and community groups. Build, lead, and update campaign timelines to ensure projects remain on schedule and on budget. Track and gather project metrics for impact reports ( e.g.: web analytics, social media analytics, viewership, media coverage, awards, downloads, etc.) and prepare data for presentation to the team and leadership. Create short summaries of impact campaigns to showcase on social media and websites. Communications Ensure the studio website is updated with the latest press, announcements, awards, airdates, and information. Draft communications and outreach materials including e-mails, memos, press releases, social media copy, campaign materials, newsletters, and website copy for a wide range of audiences. Contribute to team brainstorming on impact opportunities, marketing strategies, partnerships, events, and communications measurement across projects. Distribute communications and impact assets - ensure they are tailored to specific audiences and formatted for specific channels (e.g., press, social media, marketing, etc). Manage social media presence for Tangled Bank Studios and its film campaigns including generating content ideas, seeking approval for images and text, developing a regular cadence for posting, tracking key topics across select social media platforms, and seeking to ensure messages are reaching target audiences. Report regularly to the team and external partners on growth, key engagement, and other successes/findings. Under the supervision of the Manager, Communications & Impact, coordinate, staff, and support in-person and online communications and outreach events. Administrative Activities Ensure calendars of external events across the studio is up to date. Ensure communications and outreach assets including key art, project descriptions, impact reporting, passwords, website materials and outreach materials are up to date and stored accurately. Monitor social media and press for mentions of studio and its films. Schedule meetings and prepare agendas for weekly communications and outreach meetings. Keep track of assets and files (marketing, awards, press materials, promo stills, videos). What you bring: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Two years of experience working on advocacy, impact or communications campaigns. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Experience supporting or running large-scale events. Ability to work and remain organized in fast paced campaign environments. Strong attention to detail. Understanding of and experience running social media campaigns. Ability to travel domestically at least once a month. Ability to staff evening and weekend events on occasion Mastery of AP Style. Physical Requirements: Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. Compensation Range $66,757.60 (minimum) - $83,447.00 (midpoint) - $108,481.10 (maximum)Pay Type:AnnualHHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers.
