These units collectively support the internationalization efforts of the university and in support of the Strategic Plan, serving both students studying abroad, as well as international students coming to Mason.International Enrollment Partnerships (IEP) identifies new potential university partners, creates structured enrollment programs, executes new agreements, and maintains existing partnerships to increase the enrollment of international students at George Mason University.About the Position:The Operations Manager is a key member of the International Enrollment Partnerships team, instrumental in facilitating enrollment programs with current and potential international partners. The Operations Manager maintains positive partner and student relationships, and develops, implements, and maintains non-academic components of structured enrollment partnerships. This position manages the non-academic operations of international partnership creation with the intention of recruiting, marketing, and sustaining these partnerships through student support, campus delegation visits, international travel, and marketing and recruitment efforts.Responsibilities: * Partnership Development: * Under the supervision and direction of the IEP Director, identifies new enrollment partners; designs and implements partnership development strategy; cultivates and maintains institutional relationships; and drafts new agreements and renewals; and * Serves as the primary point of contact for new and renewing China 1+2+1 agreements; facilitates conversations with AASCU and CCIEE to vet potential China 1+2+1 partners, and make decisions on China 1+2+1 MOU renewals. * Student Support: * Serves as the primary point of contact for urgent China 1+2+1 student support related issues; * Manages student inquiries regarding international enrollment programs; manages and implements China 1+2+1 orientation; develops budget, programming, and events for students; and * Reviews admission materials for China 1+2+1 students; processes admissions; works closely with International Admissions to maintain up to date admission requirements and admission procedures and policies. * Program Management: * Manages visiting delegations; works closely with GEO and IEP student staff to reserve rooms, sets agendas, coordinates communication, and oversees visit logistics; * Manages day-to-day program operations with particular focus on successful start to finish pipeline process (recruitment, support, retention, graduation); and * Develops, implements, and maintains IEP project management tools including Smartsheet, Teams, EMOU, and Office 365 programs; manages agreement maintenance and tracking and reporting for program development and implementation. * Communication and Outreach: * Strategizes and implements outreach, marketing, and recruitment for enrollment programs; periodically reviews website content, photos, brochures, and all other recruitment materials and manages student workers to update information; communicates regularly with the Office of International Admissions on policy updates related to admissions and scholarships; * Serves as primary point of contact for IEP with various teams within the Provost's Office, Division of Enrollment, and University Life including Housing, OIPS, Admissions, INTO Mason, and Career Services to support operational and administrative aspects of enrollment partnerships and student support; and * Acts as primary delegate to AASCU and CCIEE events including the annual worker bee conference, China 1+2+1 graduation ceremony, and China 1+2+1 partner visits. * Supervision: * Supervises part-time student staff; manages student worker job description and posts on Handshake; oversees applicant review and hiring process. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Experience working with international students and/or international education programs; * Experience with program or project management; * Demonstrated cross-cultural competency and/or foreign language skills; and * Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in related field; * Considerable experience with program or project management (typically three or more years); * Experience with partnership management and handling agreements; * Experience in higher education or a research university environment; * Demonstrated ability to process and handle confidential information; * Demonstrated ability to process information; * Demonstrated problem solving skills; and * Due to the nature of the position and its responsibility to Chinese students, an Intermediate or Advanced fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
