Senior Quality Control Specialist Implements and monitors QA/QC program for NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations to ensure all operating and maintenance programs are in conformance with the program outlined in the Quality Manual, and maintains compliance with regulatory agencies, i.e., FRA, FTA, AAR. Develops and conducts independent evaluations of maintenance and service practices and procedures to determine compliance with NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations and Federal standards. Works with Engineering and Procurement staffs to develop systems approaches to resolve problems encountered during the Procurement process. Assures that maintenance standards are based on proven and acceptable maintenance techniques within the railroad transportation industry. Conducts contractor/subcontractor/consultant and/or supplier/vendor audits and site inspections for compliance with NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations supplier Quality Program. Establishes system of documentation control for ongoing projects from design through construction, so all project information is readily available and current. Develops and issues monthly reports, using charts and graphs to measure the effectiveness of the quality of service provided. Travel is required throughout the system on different shifts, including weekends, to conduct site evaluations. Travel is required, both nationally and internationally, to inspect new acquisitions during their manufacture. Salary $57,348-$100,853 Knowledge & Skills Required Baccalaureate degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related area, or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in a railroad equipment related field, such as mechanical, quality, equipment engineering, etc. One year of experience can be substituted for each year of education required. Familiarity with rolling stock, rules and special instructions (TRO's) and maintenance of rail cars and locomotives desired. Must successfully complete NJ TRANSIT's ISO 9001-2015 Quality Systems Audit Training and Quality Management Systems Training within one (1) year of placement in the position.
