Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Director 1, Command and Control Deputy with the background, vision, and people skills to serve as a senior leader in the Command & Launch (C&L) Command and Control (C2) Integrated Product Team (IPT). This position will be located in Roy, UT , with a secondary location of Huntsville, AL , and will support the Sentinel program. The C2 Deputy is responsible to the C2 Lead for the operations and execution of the Command and Control scope of work, focusing on "down-and-in" leadership. In addition, the C2 Deputy will function as the C2 Lead with Delegation of Authority, as required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Organizational Leadership: * Support the C2 Lead in developing and translating the strategic vision into long range plans and short/intermediate-term technical direction to the C2 organization.* Performing financial and performance analyses to develop and implement long-term staffing plans and process improvements.* Providing mentorship and growth opportunities to the Command and Control organization and growing a strong leadership bench.* Lead and staff a diverse team of engineers and managers of 600+ team members while executing a baseline schedule and budget with earned value principals.* Program Execution: * Utilizing earned value management and other financial tools to plan, execute, and report status against a baseline budget of over $2B.* Supporting the integrated planning of complex interdependent projects to support Sentinel program milestones, balancing prioritization of Engineering resources between competing projects and teams.* Ensuring schedules and program plans are credible, substantiated by quantitative data, and bounded by risks and opportunities.* Supporting a comprehensive risk and opportunity management program for the C2 organization.* Ensuring major subcontract partners are executing to their contractual obligations and meeting program expectations for cost, schedule, and technical performance.* Multi-disciplinary hardware and software development with multiple customers, end-users, subcontractors/suppliers, and interim deliveries within the program effort. Effectively report metricized hardware and software development status against program milestones.* Communication: * Negotiating competing priorities and interests across a wide range of internal and external stakeholder communities to pursue the best course of action for the Sentinel program.* Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of distinct customer communities, subcontractors, and industry partners.* Providing regular briefings, reports, and other communications to executive leadership.* Ensuring consistency and effectiveness of external program communications, such as contracts letters; requests for information, quote, or proposal (RFI, RFQ, RFP), and letters of technical direction (LOTD).* Technical Excellence: * Ensuring adherence to the Sentinel technical baseline and associated processes for the C2 organization.* Help lead the design and development of hardware and software system components based on system level allocations.* Balancing stringent quality standards for technical artifacts (e.g. Technical Data Packages, Product Data Packages) with the rapid pace of design and development of hardware and software, procurement, assembly, and integration of test assets and early prototypes.* Making informed decisions between conflicting technical approaches based upon program and IPT-level cost, schedule, and technical impacts and risk.* May be required to travel up to 25% of the time.As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:- Medical, Dental & Vision coverage- 401k- Educational Assistance- Life Insurance- Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions- Paid Time Off- Health & Wellness Resources- Employee Discounts These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. You will bring these qualifications: * Bachelors of Science in STEM discipline and 10 years of related experience, Master's degree and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a PhD supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.* 3 years of previous management experience leading large teams.* 3 years of experience with program execution for complex, geographically diverse program execution* Active DoD Secret clearance with latest investigation completed within the last 6 years.* Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance* Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager Preferred Qualifications * Active DoD Top Secret with SAP clearance* ICBM Experience* Experience developing and integrating components for distributed command and control systems* Experience with agile SW development principles, as applied to DoD program execution* Experience with computing electronics design and production* Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)* Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities* Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations#Sentinelleadership Salary Range: $181,000 - $300,100The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
