What do I need as an Activities Assistant with Messiah Lifeways? Experience in recreation or related field (Human Services), preferred Experience working with older adults, preferred What will I do as an Activities Assistant with Messiah Lifeways? Coordinates and conducts life activities, focusing on meaningful, resident preferred activities. Plans, organizes, and leads group and individualized age-appropriate programs, providing activities for residents who stay in their room and/or residents who are at a lower functional level, meeting Federal and State regulations. Motivates and assists residents to become part of neighborhood life if they choose so. Plans for and accompanies residents on trips outside of Messiah Lifeways and works cooperatively with the Transportation Coordinator to make transportation arrangements. Assists in the dining room and provides opportunities for socialization. Transports and/or assists residents to and from programs. Aware of the safety of residents and medical restrictions during all activities.
