Location: GVYMCA Nazareth Branch: 33 South Main Street, Nazareth, PA 18064 ABOUT Greater Valley YMCA Greater Valley YMCA is a charitable, nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our communities through membership and programs that foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all . Lifeguard Salary : $11.50 - $15.50 per hour Lifeguard Hours : Hours vary based on availability, Monday through Friday and weekend shifts are available (Part Time) Lifeguard Responsibilities : Maintains active surveillance of the pool area Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures Accurately completes related reports as required Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area including the sauna, whirlpool, and steam room Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed reporting any concerns to the Aquatics Director Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action Attends all staff meetings and in-service training Performs other duties as assigned Lifeguard Qualifications : Minimum age of fifteen (15) Lifeguard Certification CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, ARC Lifeguard or equivalent Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness consistently over the entire guard shift Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards Child Abuse Training must be completed within ninety (90) days of employment Additional training requirements Familiarity with personal computers helpful Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations Valid and current driver's license recommended but not required Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Lifeguard Benefits: Free Membership to the Y Training & Development Wellness Resources Retirement Plan (403b) and (401a) - (Employer contribution up to 8%) Childcare discounts (up to 50% off) Salary: $11.50 - $15.50 per hour Job Type: Part-time YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer All Qualified Women, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and US Veterans Encouraged to Apply ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
