Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor Salary : $13.00-$15.00 per hour Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor Hours : Flexible schedule (Part-time) Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor Responsibilities : Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals Ask and answers questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being Maintain current certifications, and pursue ongoing fitness/wellness education and knowledge of trends to provide research-based information and support to members Build effective, authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the YMCA Observe and adjust approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture Celebrate achievement of program participants related to program or personal goals, mastering of specific skills, or overall health and well-being Keep accurate class attendance records Maintain organization of equipment and pool deck Assist with emergency situations as needed Perform other duties as assigned Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor Qualifications : Current lifeguard certification through American Red Cross, Y-USA, or Jeff Ellis and Associates preferred Current certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen or willing to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire Child Abuse Training must be completed within ninety (90) days of employment Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, and an appropriate professional image Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and a positive attitude Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor Benefits: Free Membership to the Y Training & Development Wellness Resources Retirement Plan (403b) and (401a) - (Employer contribution up to 8%) Childcare discounts (up to 50% off) Salary: $13.00-$15.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer All Qualified Women, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and US Veterans Encouraged to Apply ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
