Summer Camp Lifeguard Salary : $11.50 - $15.50 per hour (depending on experience) Summer Camp Lifeguard Hours : Monday-Friday (Part-time) Summer Camp Lifeguard Responsibilities : Maintains active surveillance of the pool area Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures Accurately completes related reports as required Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area including the sauna, whirlpool, and steam room Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed reporting any concerns to the Aquatics Director Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action Performs other duties as assigned Summer Camp Lifeguard Qualifications : Minimum age of sixteen (16) Lifeguard Certification CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, ARC Lifeguard or equivalent Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness consistently over the entire guard shift Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Summer Camp Lifeguard Benefits: Free Membership to the Y Training & Development Wellness Resources Childcare discounts (up to 50% off) Salary: $11.50 - $15.50 per hour (depending on experience) Job Type: Seasonal (Part Time) Y MCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer All Qualified Women, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and US Veterans Encouraged to Apply ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
